Music Education

Developing Skills for Worship & Service

Music is a gift that reveals and reflects the beauty and glory of God. The music department at Paradise Adventist Academy offers band and choir to develop our students’ musical abilities so they can use this gift to honor God and serve others.

Our curriculum follows the National Standards of Music and exposes students to a wide repertoire of music — from classical to modern, secular to sacred. Students learn the value of music and the skills to create it.

  1. Singing, alone and with others, a varied repertoire of music.
  2. Performing on instruments, alone and with others, a varied repertoire of music.
  3. Improvising melodies, variations, and accompaniments.
  4. Composing and arranging music within specified guidelines.
  5. Reading and notating music.
Listening to, analyzing, and describing music.
  6. Evaluating music and music performances.
  7. Understanding relationships between music, the other arts, and disciplines outside the arts.
  8. Understanding music in relation to history and culture.

Musical Competitions and Festivals

Our generous donors and fundraisers make it possible for students to participate in several competitions and festivals, including:

  • The annual NCC music festival
  • A 1-week tour near the end of each year

Past tours have visited Disneyland, Victoria, BC, Canada, and the Pacific Northwest.

Inspiring creativity. Igniting passion. Developing skills.
